Chief Baby Records Catalogue - Summer 2005

CB-021 CABASS'N "30 in Australia" Available in July, this is a 3 song 7" from Chief Baby's most active band. The drum duties were filled by Rob-ot, with Steve completing all guitars, bass and vocals. This recording is currently being worked on in Brad's absence (He is in Australia and just turned 30). The 3 songs on the release are: Bionic Overload - Electric Version, Assembly Required (Redux), and After the Funeral. It's about time we get to hear an electric version of Overload. The band says Assembly has really developed into its full potential, and After the Funeral is a melodic (and slightly familiar) instrumental. (2005)

CB-020 Grit Scrimmage "3 Songs and You're Dead" This is the final recording made by Northern VA's legendary riff monsters. These 3 songs were recorded in Summer 2004, and reflect some of the band's best material. Songs include Gift of Bush, The Awful Suit and From the Grotto to the Moon. (2005)

CB-019 CABASS'N "Headlight Blind in the Black of Night" This has been referred to as CABASS'Ns best recording to date by many fans and critics alike. The 4 songs flow as one continuous track and feature Blair Allen on drums for the first time with the band. The song titles are I. Fish Call, II. Milemarker, III. Whisper Softly (why are you yelling in my ear), and IV. Feel this Arctic Blast. HBITBON is an epic masterpiece of mammoth proportions. Get your copy and see/hear why. (2005)

CB-018 Architect of the Capital "Down to the Underwater Shrine" Demos from Norhtern VA's AOC (later Grit Scrimmage) recorded in 2002-2003 at their practice spot. This collection contains 10+ songs and is ready for your consumption with this re-release. These are some of AOC's earliest material. Pat wrote most of the songs while Steve contributed 3 of his own. Recorded and mixed by Pat on his digital 8 track, this release includes the "Questionable Warlock" demo originally self-released by the band in 2002. (2005)

CB-017 CABASS'N "Japanese 7 inch" This release features a remixed version of Assembly Required from the Funeral for Lou sessions and two new acoustic instrumental tracks from Steve and Brad recorded in March 2005. There is are demo versions of Fish Call and Right Wing Vampires for your listening pleasure. (2005)

CB-016 Grit Scrimmage "Prison Food: Combined Volumes I & II" The legendary demos of songs recorded solely by band member Pat in 2003-04. Some of these made it to full band versions and some didn't, but listening to these demos makes you wish they all did. Highlights include Cut Your Partition and Dying Turtle. (2004)

CB-015 Grit Scrimmage "Live at Dal's Patriotic Field Party 7/4/2004" Happy 228th birthday America! The full unabridged version of thislegendary performance. There are 23 Songs divided into two sets featuring all of your favorite Grit songs. We've even included a bonus disk entitled "Sphynk-taur" which is Steve, Pat and with some random dudes playing improv death metal songs. (2004)

CB-014 CABASS'N "Funeral for Lou" This s song EP contains 4 full band electric tracks from Brad, Steve and Rob-ot, plus two acoustic songs from Brad and Steve. Recorded by Steve on his newly acquired digital 8 track, the songs are: Forgotten Scrolls, Overload (acoustic), Assembly Required, Split-Side, Spoiled Youth (acoustic), and Funeral for Lou. These songs capture the best elements of the band and are their most energized effort since the heyday of Lou Albino. (2004)

CB-013 CABASS'N "Acoustic Demos" 8 songs recorded by Steve on his 4 track in spring 2004. Songs include some of Steve's songs played in Grit Scrimmage and CABASS'N as well as some other never before heard tracks. Highlights include Overload, Infomercial, #1 COntender and Body Surfing Champion of the World (thats Steve if you don't already know). (2004)

CB-012 Grit Scrimmage "Live @ the Lizard July 2003" This is a performance from the band shortly after changing their name from AOC. 18 songs are in the set including the now legendary performance of Grit Scrimmage theme (with a full on finger tapping solo, pick slides and outro riffs at the speed of light). Other highlights: Cur Your Partition, Temporary Badges, Plaza 49, Barbacoa Jesus and Song for Ken Rex. (2003)

CB-011 CABASS'N "Instrumentals" Written in 2002, Recorded in February 2003, these are four songs done by Steve with G-Slim (original Lou Albino drummer). This is the first ever recording by CABASS'N. Recorded by Steve on 4 track in Alexandria, VA, get the release that got the guys motivated to rock again. Songs include: #1 Contender, Milemarker, G'Slims PhD, and Chinese Finger Trap.
