Cab Assassin Update

We here at Chief Baby Records have been utterly disappointed with Cab Assassin lately. Sure they occupy the largest portion of Chief Baby's Back Catalogue, and sure maybe some of the band members own and run this label. But since there is so much action from other Chief baby Artists and Projects we asked the band to prove to us that they have actually been recording new material. Their response was "a picture says a thousand words..."

Grit Scrimmage Working Away on 2 CDs

Things are looking right on schedule for the Grit Scrimmage Collection(s) forthcoming on Chief Baby. The band has unearthed a treasure trove of demos and live recordings that they will be going through in the next couple of weeks. The band has informed Chief Baby records that they will be recording between 10 and 15 songs for "Edison Auto-Shop: The Definitive Grit Scrimmage" CD which will also include all songs from their 3 previously self-released EPs "Questionable Warlock," "Down the the Underwater Shrine," and "3 Songs and You're Dead." We are happy share the news that Grit Scrimmage will also be releasing a CD entitled "Grits with Gits and Stix" as a companion to "Edison Auto-Shop." We are told that this companion CD will include many of the early demos from 2001 and some live stuff spanning 2001 - 2004. The band has been practicing and has their first recording session planned for mid August.

So It's a Little More than Nostalgia

Edison Auto Shop: The Definitive Grit Scrimmage Collection

The creation of a Grit Scrimmage Myspace page launched some communications between the members of the defunct band... ...and the outcome is legendary.

Grit Scrimmage will be assembling a complete discography for future release of Chief Baby Records. Since there are only 9 or so songs that were recorded in studio, they will attempt to record the other 12+songs in the coming months at Pat's home studio.

Now, maybe they will take the Ogrituary down from their blogspot

The idea to reunite for this occasion started as a side project idea between Pat and Steve about a year ago. They were going to record some of the old material for a release under the name "Edison Auto Shop" but both of them are so busy with other projects that is seemed like is might never happen. It seems that the creation of the myspace page has sparked Bryan's interest as well, motivating Pat and Steve to follow through with the idea and take it a step further.

When asked to comment about the recent turn of events, Steve replied "This couldn't happen at a better time, there is a little bit of a nostalgia buzz from the grit army in eastern alexandria, and I am currently experiencing a really weird period of inactivity in my other band. I think Bryan adds enough spark to get Pat and I ready to do this."

No word yet if Jason is willing or able to participate.
